FamilyID is a secure registration platform that provides you with an easy, user-friendly way to register for our sports teams, and helps us to be more administratively efficient and environmentally responsible.  When you register through FamilyID, the system keeps track of your information in your profile.  You only need to enter your information once for each family member and your account is available for multiple uses and multiple programs. Terra Linda Athletics utilizes InstaTeam to communicate between coaches, parents and athletes.  By subscribing to InstaTeam you will receive emails of schedule updates, game time changes, cancellations and other team information. Transferring to TL?

All students coming to Terra Linda from another High School MUST speak with our Athletic Director after meeting with our School Registrar and enrolling for classes. CIF/NCS must approve ALL transfer students for athletic eligibility.  CIF/NCS forms may be required, subject to the conditions of the student transfer.  See CIF bylaws 206, 207 and 510 for student transfer details (

STEP 1: Questions to Ask Yourself

What Are My Athletic Goals?

  • Participation

  • Level of Competition

  • Ability to Contribute and  Travel

  • Is this the appropriate level for your abilities ie. Div 1 vs. Div 2 vs. Div 3.

What Are My Education Goals?

  • Type of Education

  • Level of Education(AA, Bachelors, Masters, Law, Doctorate)

  • What is the Priority(Sport first? Education first? Balance?)

  • Does the school have the academic curriculum that you are interested in?

  • Would you choose this school if you were not playing a collegiate sport?

What Can I Afford?

  • Am I eligible for financial Aid

  • Can I get a scholarship

  • Can you afford this school

Where Do I Want To Live?

  • Proximity to home

  • Climate Preference

  • Life after the sport/college

  • Can you spend four years here?

STEP 2: Research and Correspondence

  • Know the Rules

    • You cannot accept any gift from the school or anyone affiliated with it.

    • You cannot practice with the team when you are visiting.

    • Read the NCAA Guide for College Bound Athletes.

    • What are the eligibility requirements to participate in a sport?

    • Coaches may not call you until July 1 after your Junior year. You can call or write to them before.

  • Where Do I think I Want to Go To College?

    • Use a Broad Search.

    • Include Schools that are “challenging”.

    • Include schools that are “fun”.

  • Do Your Homework

    • Know the School’s admission requirements

    • Know the application process & deadlines

    • Research the team standards, history, records etc

    • Would you be happy with this team?

Welcome to our Fall 2020 Sports season.

Terra Linda High School has instituted a platform for athletic registration through FAMILYID.(

FamilyID is a secure registration platform that provides you with an easy, user-friendly way to register for our programs, and helps us to be more administratively efficient and environmentally responsible.  When you register through FamilyID, the system keeps track of your information in your FamilyID profile.  You enter your information only once for each family member for multiple uses and multiple programs.


Athletes who participated in a sport  last year and have registered for FamilyID should do the following to register for a Fall 2020 Sport:

  1. Log into your account
  2. Click on Fall Sports
  3. Click on the Fall sport your student athlete wishes to participate
  4. Click on participant's name and all fields will populate with your information you already provided
  5. Scroll down the page until you find the agreements; click on all the agreements – Both Athlete and Parent/Guardian
  6. Edit any of your personal information if needed
  7. Press save


A parent/guardian should register by going to the TL website and then to the Athletics page and click on the FamilyID link to get started.

Once on FamilyID site follow these steps:

  1. To find your program, click on the link provided by the Organization and select the registration form under the word Programs.
  2. Next, click on the green Register Now button and scroll, if necessary, to the Create, Account Log In.  If this is your first time using FamilyID, click Create Account
  3. Create your secure FamilyID account by entering the account owner First and Last names(parent/guardian), E-Mail and password.  Select I Agree to the FamilyID Terms of Service.  Click Create Account.
  4. You will receive an email with a link to activate your new account.  If you don’t see the email, check your E-mail filters(spam, junk, etc…)
  5. Click on the link in your activation E-Mail, which will log you into
  6. Once in the registration form, complete the information requested.  All fields with a red* are required to have an answer.
  7. Click the Continue button when your form is complete
  8. Review your registration summary.
  9. No Payment Required
  10. Click the green Submit button.  After selecting Submit, the registration will be complete.  You will receive a completion email from FamilyID confirming your registration.

Once you are in the portal, under Links on the right hand side, click on the Pre-Participation Physical Form and print.  This is the only piece of paper you will need.  This is the form your doctor should sign and stamp and then you can upload the form to your account.  You can also find the Pre-Participation Physical Form by going to the Forms and Information tab above on the top left of the page.

If you have trouble uploading the physical form, the form may be brought in to the Athletic Office.

You may login at anytime to update your information and to check your registration(s).

To view a completed registration, select the Registration tab on the blue bar.

Academic & Attendance Eligibility & Medical

Athletes must have a 2.0 GPA to participate AND have passed a minimum of four classes. 

Athletes can not have more than 1 F.

If you are below a 2.0 GPA and want to participate,
please see the AD to determine if you qualify for a one-time waiver. 

Students are not eligible for waiver if they have below a 2.0, 2 quarters in a row.

Waiver is not available to 9th grade athletes.

Attendance Eligibility

Attend school a minimum of four (4) regular or two (2) block periods before being allowed to practice/play on any given day.  Maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and must be passing at least four classes according to SRCHSD, MCAL and NCS policies.
