A Little About Me

I have been a teacher and coach for the past 29 years. I was born in San Francisco, grew up in Corte Madera and graduated from Redwood High School in 1980. I attended the College Of Marin and graduated from UC Berkeley in 1985 with a BA in Geography. I earned a Masters in Educational Administration at San Francisco State University in 2001. In 2003 I was awarded the Golden Bell for educational excellence by the Marin County Office of Education.

I moved to San Rafael in 1998 where I live with my wife Maria and sons Liam, Aidan and Seamus. In addition to teaching I also have served on many local community organizations including the City of San Rafael Park and Recreation Commission, Bret Harte Community Association (former President), San Rafael Little League (former President), Davidson Middle School Dads Club (President), Coleman School Dads Club (former President)  and San Rafael City Schools Citizens Bond Oversite Committee. I am presently a member of the City of San Rafael Planning Commission. I also am a member of the North Bay Officials Association and officiate high school football games in Northern California. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, home renovation and golf.
