Online ordering:

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school and athletic year.

The Athletic Department would like to inform you of several updates:

1)       The Athletic Participation form has been updated to include new items.  Please download, review, complete and turn it in the Athletic Office.  Click here to access updated participation form.
2)      All student athletes need to turn in new physical forms (this is a NCS [North Coast Section Athletic rule]).  If the Athlete is between exams (i.e. had a physical during the 2016-2017 school year), ask the physician to complete and sign a new CIF physical form.

Kaiser medical exams are given every two (2) years.  Between exams, ask the Kaiser physician to provide a current date next to his/her signature so the medical clearance will be accepted.  This date will be used to determine the length of validity of the medical clearance.
3)      Terra Linda will not be holding physicals this year.  If you are not able to get an appointment with your physician, or need referral to a physician, please contact TL’s athletic trainer Kit Holsten at cholsten@srcs.org.

4)      The Fall sport season for all sports (except football) begins on August 14 – which is before school starts.  It is important that forms are turned in to the Main Office or the Athletic Office prior to tryouts.  Try out information is listed below.
5)      Marin General Hospital and TL’s Athletic Trainer are requesting that parents register their athletes through Sportswear.  This program asks more comprehensive medical questions.  Instructions on signing up for Sportswear, as the Sportswear link, can be found on the main athletics page.  Please note:  The Athletic Trainer is the only person who has access to this confidential information.
6)      Academic Eligibility:  students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher (limit of 1-F) for 2 or more quarters.  One time waivers are available for grades 10-12.  If you have eligibility questions please email the Athletic Office.
7)      Athletes who “quit” or stop participating in a sport during a season are not allowed to participate in a different sport during the same season.  Students are not allowed to participate in more than one sport per season.

8)      Sports Season start dates:  Fall 2017:  August 14; Winter 2017:  November 6; Spring 2018:  February 5.

9)  Athletics website update.  Sports schedules, links to MaxPreps MCAL standings for varsity teams, coaches contact information and InstaTeam codes are now located on one page (Team Schedules, Coaches & Instateam Codes )

Updated Athletic Participation form

The updated Athletic Participation form must be completed, signed, and returned to the Athletic Office for students trying out and participating in Sports.

Medical: Per CIF rules, an athlete must have a current physical on file (dated by physical after July 1, 2017).  If you have had a physical during the 2016-2017 year, the physician must sign a new medical release form.

Athletes with Kaiser Medical Insurance:  Per CIF rules, a medical clearance is valid for one year from the date of the exam.  Kaiser medical exams are given every two (2) years.  This has caused confusion.  Between exams, ask to have the Kaiser physician provide a current date next to his/her signature so the medical clearance will be acceptable.  With the Kaiser medical clearances, the date of the physician’s signature will be used to determine the length of validity of the medical clearance.

HEADS UP Concussion Course Video.JPG

By taking this free, online course and using what you learn, you will be well positioned to improve the culture of concussion. Your actions can help create a safe environment for young athletes so that they can stay healthy, active, and thrive - both on and off the playing field.

Once you complete the training and quiz, you can print out a certificate, making it easy to show your league or school you are ready for the season.
